Wonderful 250-year-old stone farmhouse in a stunning, rural setting of 8 hectares

Oliveto is a 250-year-old farm in a tranquil setting of woodland and meadows, olive groves and orchards. The old stone farmhouse in vernacular style is currently run as a B&B.

Upstairs are five en-suite double bedrooms connected by a long corridor that can be closed off in a couple of places, and a terrace overlooking the forest behind the house.

The farm is composed by two levels:

Downstairs, the property has an open kitchen, a large hall, a breakfast room and a sitting room with a fireplace.

The land here is a foodie and forager’s dream with a fruit orchard, olive groves, nut trees, wildflowers and an organic kitchen garden.

Food is a serious undertaking in this part of Italy and truffles, mushrooms, asparagus and wild boar are just a few of the culinary treasures to be found on the estate, all of which currently find their way onto the menu for guests.

The terrace at the front of the property offers the perfect setting for dining al fresco, with views over the gardens, trees and valleys beyond. There is an outdoor pool (14mx7m) with a terrace, where two large walnut trees provide shade.

The village of Macchie is close to Amelia, an ancient hill town with four of its six original entrances through the Etruscan wall still in place.

Here, there are shops, bars and restaurants and well as Roman ruins to admire.
